Tiffany Mounts for Rhinestones -

Tiffany mounts, are metal mounts, that hold rhinestones and jewels, creating a "tiffany" look.  In general, the mount is set from underneath the fabric, the prongs are pushed through the fabric, the stone is set and the prongs get folded over the the stone.  As such, they have exposed prongs on the finished side of the garment, so do not use where snagging of adjacent material may occur.  Some of the tiffany mounts have center holes in them to secure them onto the surface they are attaching to. They can be used for sewing the tiffany outside the garment or accomodate a pointed back rhinestone.
